Hot Beverages Linked to Oesophageal Cancer Risk

The Temperature of Trouble: A Brewing Problem in Our Cups? Research out this week suggests that drinking very hot beverages could increase the risk of oesophageal cancer.

This type of cancer affects around 9,500 people every year in the UK, although experts note that smoking and alcohol consumption are far more significant risk factors for the disease.

While the overall threat is relatively low, it's hard not to wonder if our daily cups of tea and coffee could be quietly putting us at risk.
